In April a cohort of organizers, elected officials and housing advocates from Chicago and across the country traveled to Vienna and Berlin to learn from experts there about the social housing they’ve had in place for decades. Join us for a report back from Ruth, our Environmental Justice organizer, on what she saw, heard, and learned about how this model of housing can begin to be imagined and implemented in our own neighborhoods. We’ll talk about what social housing is, how it works, and what the next steps are to move this campaign forward to bring green, affordable housing to the North Side.
