Join ONE Northside and JCUA in Lakeview on Wednesday\, May 20 for a lively action ahead of the 2026 legislative session!\n\n\n\nWe will meet at the North Side of the Belmont Red/Brown Line stop (944 W Belmont) before we head on a short march. We will be asking members of the public to support our communities through direct donations to mutual aid while our legislators have yet to promise to support our communities.

DESCRIPTION:With our allies in the Illinois Revenue Alliance\, we are heading to Springfield for a day of action on May 27\, with hundreds of people all together letting our elected officials know: put the people first or we will SHUT IT DOWN. This will not be a standard lobby day – instead we will be making sure that our representative understand the urgency we feel as Trump’s cuts to SNAP\, Medicaid\, rent subsidies and other programs are hitting our communities. We demand a budget that puts people over the profits of big tech\, big corporations and billionaires. Join the fight. \nWe will leave at 5:30am from the ONE Northside office\, 4750 N Sheridan Rd\, and return around 7pm. This will be a day PACKED with action in our state capitol. No experience is necessary – just the ability to be present for a full day of action and the willingness to use your voice to fight for our communities. We will provide transportation\, breakfast and lunch\, and training for the events of the day. \n
