We’re moving from defense to offense in the fight against authoritarianism – join the fight with a training at our March Membership Council
Trump and his billionaire backers aren’t having the best time right now! They violently attacked Minneapolis and saw that thousands of neighbors were ready to stand up and fight for each other. In court case after court case across the country, the authoritarian regime’s illegal actions are being challenged and struck down. Their actions have never been more unpopular with the general public. Now is the time for our movement to go on the offense, to take action against the pillars of support that prop up this authoritarian regime and start chipping away! When each of us takes action, big or small, we are powerful together. With mass action coordinated across the country we can stop this terror and build the future we deserve. Join us for a practical training on steps we can each take and campaigns you can join to stop this billionaire-backed authoritarian government at our next Membership Council, Thursday, March 5, from 6-8pm. This event is open to all, whether you are a current member of ONE Northside or not. (We invite you to join as a member before the meeting!) We will meet in person at North Shore Baptist Church, 5244 N Lakewood. March Membership Council Thursday, March 5, 6:00pm-8:00pm North Shore Baptist Church 5244 N Lakewood

Powerful actions in January kick off the state legislative season – we’re fighting to make billionaires and big corporations pay their fair share!
State lawmakers made their way back to Springfield in January, and budget concerns are at the top of the list of issues our state is facing. We know that our communities need to be protected from devastating budget cuts, and we also know the solution: tax big billionaires, big corporations, big tech, and big polluters to make them pay their fair share! Our Budgets and Revenue team marched at Amazon headquarters with our Illinois Revenue Alliance coalition partners to demand that our lawmakers put People Over Billionaires! The next day our Environmental Justice team joined our partners in the Make Polluters Pay coalition for a day of action in front of oil giant BP’s downtown headquarters. Later that week, Sen. Graciela Guzman introduced the Make Polluters Pay bill to the Illinois legislature! Photo: Vanessa Bly for NRDC
