Join the fight! Our biggest Town Hall ever!

town hall 2025 group photo

Are you ready to join the fight? Over 500 of you said YES at our Town Hall on November 16

WOW! What a powerful event! Thank you to everyone who joined us at Senn High School on November 16 and committed to Join the Fight. Billionaires, Big Tech and Big Corporations have hijacked our governments and we are fighting to take them back. We are fighting for our future and our democracy, for a world where everyone is safe, valued, and has the resources to thrive. We are fighting to build a better world than we have ever known!

If you weren’t able to join us, read on for the highlights and three key ways to take action right now. You can also watch a video about the event from WGN below:

Let’s Pass a People’s Budget! The Choice is Clear – Tax the Rich, Not Working Families!

In 2026, we are doubling down on our efforts to make Billionaires, Big Tech, Big Corporations and Big Polluters pay! There are more of us than there are of them, and together we have the power to make big wins.

We need you to help us make progress on this goal right now. Our city council is going to vote soon on a budget for 2026. Six of our city council members — Ald. Hadden (49), Ald. Manaa-Hoppenworth (48), Ald. Clay (46), Ald. Vasquez (40), Ald. Martin (47), and Ald. Lawson (44) — committed to advocate for a final city budget that takes steps towards making Big Corporations and Big Tech pay their fair share to fund critical city services.

Our city councilors have to make a choice: to tax the rich corporations who have gotten so many handouts from Trump, OR balance the budget by taxing working people, cutting services, and taking on debt.

Let’s make sure they hear from you, their voters, that we are counting on them to use this moment to make Big Corporations and Big Tech start paying back into the communities off of which they profit!

Fighting back — with the People’s Playbook

Big Corporations, like AT&T are profiting off our pain — they have multimillion dollar contracts with immigration enforcement agenciesWe are calling on customers not to shop at AT&T or upgrade any service until AT&T drops their contracts with ICE, DHS and CBP!

Whether you are an AT&T customer or not, you can make a difference right now by signing the pledge. Click below to let AT&T CEO John Stankey know you won’t shop with AT&T until they drop the contract!

Then, spread the word to your friends and family on social media.

Build a better city, state and country with ONE Northside

We’re fighting for a world where everyone has affordable housing, where our differences are celebrated, and where everyone is safe– from climate chaos, from police violence, and from the systemic violence that robs us of food, healthcare and housing.

If that’s your vision too, join us as a member and help us build that world. Membership dues are on a sliding scale from $5/year. Over 50 new people joined as members at the Town Hall. Thank you!

Crowd holding im in the fight signs

What do you hold sacred? What is worth fighting for?

Our Town Hall culminated with a poignant moment where we asked people to reflect on these two questions. When they were ready, they stood to commit to “Join the Fight!”

It’s okay to feel afraid as we think about all that we are up against. We know that we are safer, stronger and braver together.

There is a role for everyone in this fight and we need mass participation to stop these attacks on our communities — from the current crisis of the ICE invasion to the long-term crises of gentrification, displacement and disinvestment.

You can join the fight by committing to not spend your money with corporations who are profiting off our pain, to join mass mobilizations, and to care for and help mobilize your friends and neighbors, and to organize with ONE Northside.

This is our chance to write a different future. Together we can win this fight. Please join us!
