| There are lots of ways to step up and get involved this month to support our neighbors and protect our communities! |
| With the recent surge in ICE agents, US Customs and Border Protection agents, and the continued threat of the National Guard, ONE Northside is dedicating our resources to coordinate Rapid Response efforts for the far North Side. These federal agents are here to target immigrants, Black and Brown communities and people experiencing homelessness. They are targeting our members, our leaders, and the people living on the front lines of the issues we work on year-round — housing, climate, safety, and economic justice. We must take bold and coordinated action to keep our communities safe. Thank you to everyone who joined our Rapid Response community meeting on Zoom last week. Over 200 people joined us, representing schools, churches, service agencies, neighborhood groups, and activated neighbors! We had breakout sessions for students, parents, and school staff; organizations serving vulnerable members of our community; and allies who are ready to get more active in rapid response work. Here are some resources and next steps if you want to get connected to this work! We know we are facing challenges on many fronts, and our organizing teams are still managing our long-term campaigns for climate justice, economic justice and more. You can read more about their events coming up this month below. Support our organizing work here. Thanks for being a part of our community. These are unprecedented and dangerous times. We are inspired by the love and care we see every day in our neighborhoods. We are resolved to build the future we deserve. |

Weiss Hospital Petition
The Weiss Hospital Emergency Room closed on August 9, 2025, ending access to emergency health care services for thousands of Uptown and north side residents who depended on the hospital.
The CEO of the private equity firm that owns Weiss Hospital, Dr. Manoj Prasad, must make repairs and file an appeal with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services by September 24 in order to reopen the hospital. Make sure he hears the community loud and clear: Put people over profits and re-open Weiss!
