This summer, the Illinois Legislature closed $655 million in corporate tax loopholes – this means our communities will have funding for services we need and deserve.
In July, the Chicago City Council passed the Empowering Communities for Public Safety ordinance – this means Chicagoans will have a new role and a bigger voice in public safety decisions.
In early November, the Chicago city budget included $5 million for single room occupancy hotel (SRO) maintenance and preservation – this means that building owners can maintain and improve their buildings which will lead to long-term affordable preservation of this vital housing.
